Sets of 4 Printed (Paper) Table Mats with gold pigment with maps and images
    Liverpool Biennale | Liverpool

“With Respect to Residue: 4 Illuminated Maps” is a set of disposable, or collectable table mats for restaurant tables designed to provoke reflection about the things, states of being and histories that end up abandoned as waste, as the detritus of the routine processes that constitute and maintain the world. They feature gold embossed world maps on paper with an overlay of images of the usage of four primary and perishable commodities – tobacco, fish, peanuts and tea, and a
text that reflects on the staying power of residual things.

The work was first shown at the Liverpool Biennale, 2004 as Table Maps for Liverpool
