Dear Friends:

The Pakistan-India Peoples Forum for Peace and Democracy (PIPFPD) has 
requested us to extend a cordial invitation to participants in the 
Mumbai Study Group to a public lecture and meeting with Mr I. A. 
REHMAN, Executive Director of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, a 
non-governmental organisation in Pakistan. Tapan Bose, former General 
Secretary of the Indian Chapter of PIPFPD will also speak at the 
meeting.

I.A. Rehman was the Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observation, a daily 
newspaper. He resigned during the military dictatorship in the 
seventies and started an independent newspaper. He subsequently 
became Editor of View Point, an independent weekly published by 
Mazhar Ali from Lahore. Mr Rehman is a leading crusader for human 
rights, a prominent art critic and columnist. He is a founder member 
of the Pakistan-India Peoples' Forum for Peace and Democracy.

This meeting will be on this coming SATURDAY 14 JULY 2001, at 6.00 
P.M. at the Bhupesh Gupta Bhavan, Sayani Road, Leningrad Chowk, 
Prabhadevi, Mumbai 400025, near Ravidra Natya Mandir and Rachana 
Sansad, the venue for the meetings of the Mumbai Study Group. Phone:
