Not in the context of Arundhati Roy, but generally, I would like to say 
that “freedom of speech” is not a holy word that has to be up hailed at every 
level. Speech is a form of expression supposedly non-violent. But at the same 
time this freedom is dependent on level of ability of articulation. People 
take different form of expression when they loose in the ground of speech. It 
some times take the form of violence as well. Workers quite often get violent 
on their supervisors and some time even union leaders as they feel that they 
are cheated but find no language to talk about it. In those cases those 
people gets advantage that has more control over the speech.
