[Reader-list] questions about sri lanka

hi, saraians --

it seems that i'll be traveling to sri lanka for a few weeks, starting
saturday 19 april: some time around colombo, then around the northern
area. this is a research trip for a project i may do there, in the con-
text of the peace process. the main focus of my research is community 
networking, but that qucikly opens up into many other aspects of life
-- so my mandate is very open, which should be fun.

i'm wondering if this group has any recommendations: people or organi-
zations i should look up, phenomena or trends to keep an eye out for, 
possibilities you think are worth exploring, or any other suggestions,
general or specific, would be an enormous help and greatly appreciated.
