Dear Friends,

PUKAR, Mumbai is happy to announce the launch of the PUKAR Youth Fellowship Programme, 2005-08. This programme seeks to encourage youth based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region to explore specific social, political, economic or cultural aspects of their neighbourhoods, and develop research skills. This programme, we believe, will build confidence in the participants, generate new knowledge, and help transform the youth's experience of the city. 

This Fellowship programme will create a network of 30 Senior Fellows, each of whom will work with at least 10 youth (from colleges as well as from the unorganised, even unlettered world) on a Research-Action project. At the end of the year, the Fellow will collate, and edit/ curate a text (for instance, an essay, photo-documentation or audio-recording) linked to the theme of the particular project.
