“Inclusive Mega Cities in India? – The Learnings From Mumbai


You are cordially invited to participate in the following workshop and contribute to the discussions.

Venue: Venue: Artists Gallery, First Floor, Rachana Sansad, 278 Shanker Ghanekar Marg, Prabhadevi, Mumbai, 400025.

A one day workshop will be held on April 2, 2005 as a part of an ongoing research project titled “Inclusive Mega Cities in Asia in a Globalising World”, between Centre for Development Alternatives (CFDA), Ahmedabad  and Institute of Social Studies (ISS), The Hague. This is a four city study (Mumbai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad in India and Dhaka in Bangladesh) in South Asia. The study is focusing on employment, land and housing markets and basic services access of the urban poor. The key research question is: how can the globalizing mega-cities be pro-poor and improve quality of life of all their citizens?
