S.V. Srinivas is a Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Culture and  
Society, Bangalore. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Hyderabad.  
He is currently working on a post-doctoral project titled “Democracy  
and Spectatorship in India: Telugu Popular Cinema and Hong Kong  
Action Film” funded by SEPHIS. He has written articles on Telugu  
cinema and its audiences in Deep Focus, Economic and Political  
Weekly, Framework and Journal of Arts and Ideas.
