CALL FOR PAPERS - In-Spire, Vol. 2, No. 1, April 2007

http://www.in-spire.org/

In-spire, a post-graduate e-journal concerned with cross-disciplinary
research in the social sciences based at the Research Institute of Law,
Politics and Justice, Keele University, United Kingdom seeks
contributions, essays, book reviews and interviews for its Spring 2007
[Vol. 2, No. 1] issue:

Beyond Critiques & Deconstruction

As a method of critique, deconstruction has provided an avenue for
realizing scholarship outside of the traditional canon. While
deconstruction has instigated other erudition to be pursued, there is
nevertheless a schism between critique and practice. What is there beyond
critique? How can one move beyond imagining and arguing in order to
contribute to the practical implementation of interdisciplinary practices?
What gives 'beyond critique' the credibility or legitimacy to implement
new ideas? The quest of 'beyond critique' is not only to provide evidence
with valid criticism, but also how to construct criticism that is
"radically innovative" so as to accept or reject deconstruction.

The new issue of In-Spire will seek explore how intersectionality of ideas
and practices shapes 'beyond critique' to rethink new/radical ways of
philosophical positioning from a range of perspectives in practice (e.g.:
ethics, critical legal, socio-legal, anthropology, environment, politics,
media and communications, security studies, gender, criminology). The
articles should help our understanding of the compelling 'beyond'
critiques of inclusion and exclusion, which undermine all or most claims
to empirical "truth".

Abstracts between 250-300 words must accompany the essays. Papers invited
from postgraduate research students in all branches of the social
sciences. Last date for submissions is 30th March 2007.
