Dear friend,

Kian was arrested 11 weeks ago today. He has now been in Evin Prison
for more than seventy days. We thank you again for your signature to
the petition and your support.

As you may know, Iranian television recently broadcast footage of Kian
and Haleh Esfandiari in a deceptive fake ?documentary? purporting to
show evidence of the charges against them. Their statements to an
unseen interviewer or interrogator are spliced together with other
unrelated footage, while two commentators make false connections between
their work and a supposed plot to undermine the government. Both Kian
and Haleh appear to be speaking under coercion and following some sort
of script imposed by their interrogators. We are outraged at this abuse
of their dignity and the blatant falsehoods in this propaganda piece.
More information about the TV footage and responses to it can be found
at the Free Kian Campaign website, http://www.FreeKian.org. We are
continuing to add more material to the website, and next week will be
sharing video clips of some of Kian?s friends speaking about his case.

Please continue to raise awareness and support us in the campaign to
free Kian, Haleh, and the other detainees in Evin Prison, and encourage
others to sign the petitions and speak out on their behalf.

Thank you,

The Free Kian Campaign
