Exhibition of photographs: a University of Delhi and Alkazi Foundation for
the Arts collaboration

*The exhibition will showcase a selection of 19th Century photographs from
the Alkazi Collection relating to three sectors of the Uprising: Delhi,
Kanpur and Lucknow, with a special focus on Delhi.*

A Walk through Time

Heritage walks: Northern Ridge, its monuments and 1857

* *

*In 1857, as the rebels captured Shahjahanabad, the British retreated to the
ridge and planned the recapture of the city. The northern ridge also has
structures that represent periods and events that date back to earlier
times. The heritage walks will cover the Vice-Chancellor's Office, the
Flagstaff Tower, Chauburja, Pir Ghaib, Bara Hindu Rao, Ashoka Pillar and
Mutiny Memorial.*



Dates: November: 6, 7, 12, 17,19, 21, 24, 26, 28; December: 7, 8, 10, 15,
17, 22.

Time: 10 am-1 pm
