Dear Shivam

On 4th Aug 2008 you wrote:

""""""The Hizb hardly has any presence left for its warnings to be taken seriously"""""""

Today on 31st Aug 2008 you forward a report containing the very 'humane' and 'exalted' statements of the Hizb Chief Syed Sallahuddin. Are these to be taken seriously?

Why would you publicise a person who's organisation according to you is of no consequence (hardly any presence)?

The report also quotes SS as saying:

"""""The instructions have been given to Mujahideen not to operate in any crowded and populated place and area where there are chances of loss to life and property of civilians,"""""

This 'humane' application of 'terrorism' apart, since according to Shivam Vij "the Hizb hardly has any presence" then it could be deducted that according to Shivam Vij Syed Sallahuddin is shamelessly  lying when he talks of  instruction having been given to "Mujahideen" to operate in a particular manner. How can your Mujahideen "operate" Syed Sallahuddin when according to Shivam Vij you hardly have any presence?

This leads me to repeat what I had said about the 'hardly any presence' comment of Shivam Vij:

This comment could have been made only by someone who:

(a.) has very little idea of the realities of Kashmir    OR

(b.) acts (knowingly or unknowingly) as a mouthpiece for the separatists in Kashmir and in that role regurgitates from publications like 'Greater Kashmir', promoting thereby the separatist agenda      OR

(c.) is a complete idiot

Shivam Vij certainly qualifies for (a.) and (b.). No wonder he made that comment

'Dangerous conspiracy to give communal color to movement'

Srinagar, Aug 30: The United Jihad Council today accused Indian
intelligence agencies of hatching a conspiracy against members of
minority community to 'give communal color to the popular movement of
Kashmiris.'

"The United Jihad Council chairman Syed Sallahudin has taken serious
note of Indian intelligence agency RAW report which stated that Hizbul
Mujahideen and the Al-Umar Mujahideen have planned to kill Sikhs and
Hindus in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. This is dangerous conspiracy and
the government of Jammu and Kashmir and government of India has hand
in the RAW's baseless and dangerous report," the UJC chief Syed
Sadaqat Hussain said while quoting Sallahudin.

In statement faxed to this newspaper, he said the government by
hatching such conspiracies was trying to ward off international
pressure against massive use of forces on peaceful protesters in
Kashmir.

The UJC chief said that the "Indian security forces have unleashed
brutal force on peaceful protesters in Kashmir."

"But on other hand government is trying to give this fight for
self-determination a communal color," he said.

The UJC chief described the RAW report as part of dangerous conspiracy
and said in '90s the then state governor Jagmohan adopted same methods
of deceit and treachery to force Kashmiri Pandits out of Kashmir.

He said Indian State and its intelligence agencies killed 36 Sikhs in
Chattisinghpora and Kalhund to portray struggle for right to
self-determination as a communal movement. "The IB has itself revealed
in its investigation that Chittisinghpora massacre was handiwork of
the Indian forces," he said. However he added the State covered the
whole massacre and didn't punish any trooper involved in it.

The government of India, the UJC chief said, was trying to sabotage
people's movement by trying to harm minorities.
But, he said, instructions have been given to all militants to
protect the life and property of minorities in the state.

"The instructions have been given to Mujahideen not to operate in any
crowded and populated place and area where there are chances of loss
to life and property of civilians," the UJC chief said. He said Hindus
and Sikhs were with the movement and even some Hindu youth have
achieved martyrdom while "fighting against the Indian troops."

He said the UJC would seriously debate on recent appeals by
religious, social organizations about the ceasefire. He said the UJC
would convene a special meeting to discuss the ceasefire issue. "The
ceasefire option and present situation would be discussed in the
meeting. And nation would be informed about the decisions," the UJC
chief said.
