This is one of the most astounding Poll results I have ever come across. Even more astounding than the high turnout in the J&K Elections.

An ongoing Poll in Web edition of DAWN Newspaper in Pakistan shows the following results (as of 23/12/2008) to the question " Has the Indian government's response to the Mumbai attacks been: Appropiate OR Excessive OR Subdued?"

As of 23/12/2008 out 34,207 respondents :

- 46% say 'the response' has been APPROPIATE

- 41% say 'the response' has been SUBDUED

- Only 14% say 'the response' has been EXCESSIVE

The percentages add up to 101% instead of 100%. Presumably that is a tabulating error from fractions.

It would appear that at least amongst the DAWN Web-Readership the evaluation is that maybe with some pressure exerted agasinst Pakistan by India, Pakistan will be provoked into rectifying it's existence away from being the 'epicentre of global terrorism'.
