* **warrants against Yaseen Malik*

*JAMMU, Nov 8: *Presiding Officer TADA Court today issued production warrant
of JKLF supremo Mohd Yaseen Malik, who is presently lodged in Jammu Jail and
Mohd Rafiq alias Nanaji, who is presently lodged in Udhampur Jail for their
production in the Court on the next date of hearing in the Rubiya Syed
kidnapping case. The Court also issued non-bailable warrants against Yaqoob
Pandit, who is also an accused in the case.

When the cases of kidnapping of Dr Rubiya Syed and killing of Air-Force
personnel came up for hearing before the TADA Court today, Senior Advocate Z
A Shah assisted by Advocate Yogesh Bakshi filed an application for transfer
of cases from Jammu TADA Court to Srinagar TADA Court. The Court issued
notice to CBI for objections in the transferring the application of the
cases.

The accused who were present in the court today include Zargar, Mohd Iqbal
Gandroo, Manzoor Ahmed Sofi, Mohd Zaman Mir while the other accused were
exempted by the Court for today as the civil curfew was imposed in the
Srinagar.

Dr Rubiya Syed, daughter of then Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed
was kidnapped by the accused persons including JKLF supremo in December 1989
when she was going to hospital. She was released after the Government
released five hardcore militants of JKLF as demanded by the accused persons.

Dr Syed kidnapping and killing of five Air Force officials at Batmaloo in
January 1990 cases were investigated by the country's premier investigating
agency—CBI and challan was presented in the court of TADA, which have been
pending for framing of charges for last more than 15 years.
