In the past couple of decades in Kashmir, many prominent political figures have been executed.

Two such well known murdered personalities from the 'separatist' camps are Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq and Abdul Ghani Lone. Most "fairly in the know" analysts attribute their killings to the internecine conflicts of the 'separatists' themselves. That is dismissed by the 'separatists' who blame "India" for the deaths.

Yasin Malik, while speaking about the grenade attack on the home of Jammiat Ahl-e-Hadees Chairman Moulana Showkat has been credited with the following paraphrased comment :

""""""" He said in past such things have happened that many knew the identity of the attackers but despite having knowledge, they were not exposed keeping larger interest of the movement in consideration""""""""

Yasin talks about not exposing the attackers in the larger interest of the "movement". The attackers would therefore be from within the "movement". The "separatist movement"

If unfortunately Moulana Showkat had been killed, you could be fairly sure that "india" would have been blamed for it.

Malik vows to identify attackers

Attack on Moulana Showkat by NASEER A GANAI

Srinagar, Sep 24:

The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, today said whosoever was responsible for grenade attack on the house of Jamiat Ahlehadees chairman Moulana Showkat would be exposed before people.

“We are unarmed. And a group or the State which hurled the grenade on the house of Moulana Showkat are armed and they should come forward and disclose their identity if they have courage. And if they don’t, we would unmask them and expose them,” Malik said addressing a press conference here.

Malik said some Hizbi Muslimeen has owned responsibility of the attack. “They are not Hizbi Muslimeen but they are Hizbi Munafiqeen,” Malik said vowing to expose the attackers.

He said Moulana Showkat has played important role in uniting the pro-freedom parties and has remained on forefront during people’s movement. Moulana Showkat, Malik added, has played pivotal role in organising people during recent marches.

He said on Tuesday Moulana Showkat had gone to Islamabad in connection with a programme of his organization. And in Srinagar a grenade was hurled at his house, he said. Fortunately, he said, no one was seriously injured in the attack but the attackers, whosoever they might be, should understand they would be exposed.

The JKLF chairman said an investigation would be conducted on the incident by JKLF. He said in past such things have happened that many knew the identity of the attackers but despite having knowledge, they were not exposed keeping larger interest of the movement in consideration. But now we have taken a decision to expose such people, Malik said. He said the JKLF has brought a revolution in Jammu and Kashmir and it would take the revolution to its logical end.

About trade on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road, he said the road should be opened for trade without permit system as Azad Kashmir was part of Jammu and Kashmir. He said JKLF would welcome it if such is the case. He however said the trade should not face the fate of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service. “It has become very easy to get the passport to travel to Azad Kashmir, than to get a permit to board Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus. We won’t allow trade (across LoC) to suffer the same fate.”
