On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2009, women’s organisations in
Mumbai are raising the issue of growing assaults on women and their
democratic rights in the name of safeguarding morality and culture by
communal – fundamentalist organisations.  The organisations will demand the
upholding of rights, freedom and security of women provided in the
Constitution and also the protection of all citizens from communal, casteist
and regional chauvinist forces.

*March 8, 2009**:   Women’s Rally to start from Kotwal Garden (opposite
Plaza cinema) Dadar (W) at **4.00 pm.  Public Meeting at Bhupesh Gupta Hall,
Sayani Road, Prabhadevi at 4.45 p.m.** *
