Nothing could have been more shameful than such a verdict.

It's not enough that Binayak Sen be released and charges against him be
dropped. What's required is to sentence the judge who gave such a sentence
for a certain period in jail. That alone can ensure that judges don't give
arbitrary verdicts based on irrational logic.
