Those who have described as a "bunch of gerua (ochre) robed rudraksha
necklace sporting ektara strumming semi-stoned (or not) musical-spiritual
freaks" are actually followers of the tradition of Lallon Fakir. Fakiri is
not something that could be accomplished by people who trapped by their
bourgeoisie. It is a blend of sufi culture with the vaishnavism, tantric
arts and also Buddhism. These people have nothing to lose. while some of the
fakirs have shed that image and dedicated themselves to the cause of the
musical and poetry tradition promoting it across the world, other bauls,
even now, beg for a living in the trains. Begging is something they really
do not mind. In times of misery, Bauls are the minstrels who bring the good
news to you. There have been several books about their poetry and the music.
I would request you read about them before making making such a statement.

Thank you
Anupam
