Dear Zulfikar

(Please correct me if I am wrong) The Ahmediyas in Pakistan have had no significant public image after they were declared Non-Islamic. Nor have they been known to make any pronouncements for or against the "War on Terror' whether led by USA or by Pakistan (internally).

Why then were they targetted? What are the thoughts in Pakistan on that?

Is it possible that the Taliban (if they were the perpetrators of the attack) were trying to garner support for themselves by projecting (through the attack on the Ahmediyas) that they are the flag-bearers for "True" Islam?

By bringing up the presence of the Ahmediyas in Pakistan into public focus (through the attack), were the attackers calling upon the revival of the religious-hate and religious-revulsion against the Ahmediyas to act as a binding factor for support towards the attackers and their being seen as "True" Muslims?

Kshmendra
