KSMTF demands 150-metre-long breakwater from Kakathope to Thanni
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

KOLLAM: People residing along the coast from Kakathope to Thanni near
here will stage a march to the Collectorate on June 18 to press their
long-pending demands. The main demand is for a 150-metre-long
breakwater from Kakathope to Thanni as protection from the fury of the
sea.

The march will be under the banner of the district unit of the Kerala
Swatantra Matsya Thozhilali Federation (KSMTF).

The march will be led by federation leaders S. Francis, A. Andrews and
C. Peter. Parish priest of Eravipuram Fr. James Joy will flag off the
march from Eravipuram and State president of the federation T. Peter
will inaugurate a dharna in front of the Collectorate. Other demands
include houses for those rendered homeless in sea erosion, help to
those who have lost their fishing equipment and land to those who lost
their land in sea erosion.
