"So?"

An editor of a local daily in north east once cautioned me that "So" is
"Quite possibly the most overused adverb in the English language, when
capitalized". There are others who say if someone says "so", you must take
them to be:

1. the other person doesn't know what to say.
2. when someone is not sure what to say. Usually repeated by another person.

3. Used by someone in a conversation if it doesn't matter.
4. Used by someone in a conversation if they don't care.

See people tell me all kinds of things about using "so" but what you
probably wanted to say is that "so what are you trying to prove?" or "so
what is the connection here?" I am sorry if i am assuming. The idea is not
trying to prove anything which will be bother you. My idea is have things in
a perspective which has not just one way of looking at it but many.

Thanks Anupam
