*1. Sumona Dasgupta*, conflict transformation practitioner, will speak on

*‘Responding to Conflict: Perspectives from Kashmir’*

The talk will introduce the concepts of conflict transformation and
peace-building using the situation in Kashmir as an illustration. Locating
conflict transformation and peace-building within a range of responses that
include conflict management and conflict resolution, Sumona Dasgupta will
point out how these different approaches overlap but also diverge in their
framework. She will also focus on the role of civil society in initiating
sustained dialogue in conflict regions.
