*The speaker and his work**:* Prof. Muraleedharan teaches English and
Cultural Studies at the PG Department of English, St. Aloysius College
(University of Calicut), Kerala for the last 29 years. His research  interests
are Film and Media Studies, Literary and Critical Theory, British
Literature, Post-Colonial literatures, Cultural Studies and Gender and Race
Studies. He has been visiting professor at the University of Chicago (2007),
SSRC, New York (2005), New York University (2004), and Open University, UK
(1996) and also taught at the Department of English, Al Fateh University,
Tripoli, Libya (2008-09).

He has published extensively on Queer Sexuality and History of Malayalam
Cinema. Presently he is working on a book on the History of Malayalam
Cinema.
