A story which has been retold a thousand times and loved every time… Characters which take you back to your childhood, songs that will play on everyone’s lips… 
A story of dreams, aspirations, strengths and imagination. The Puppet Studio brings to you an enchanting tale about fairies and witches; wizards and magic… A tale about a little girl and her journey to a wonderland and her adventures in the beautiful dream world of 'Oz, a tale about good and bad, a tale about friendship and love. A story about a cowardly lion, a heart-less Tinman, a brainless Scarecrow and how they realize that they always had...what they thought they never had!! Brace yourselves to be enthralled by a performance, you have never seen before.

DIRECTOR'S NOTES:-


L. Frank Baum wrote this lovely story in English. While adapting the story, I kept in mind to to keep the language lively, simple and easy to understand, specially by kids. The narrative is in Hindustani with day to day used simple english lines.  The Wizard of Oz, is about a journey of this little girl Dorothy (Dolly in hindi) and her cute puppy friend (ToTo, same in hindi) into a wonderland called OZ, where she meets these imaginary characters- a SCARECROW (BajjarBattu in hindi) who THINKS he doesn't have brains, a TINMAN (Dabba in hindi) who FEELS he doesn't have a heart and a LION (Sher Khan in hindi) who LACKS COURAGE... and their enchanting journey into the woods to find THE WIZARD OF OZ, (Manhaan Jaadugar in hindi) who could fullfill their desires, but on a condition that they must destroy the villanious WICKED WITCH OF THE EAST ( Khadoos Chudail).


The play has 10 beautiful songs written by Amit Gupta, an IT professional. The audience should look out to some foot taping music, witty lyrics and well choreographed numbers, colorful sets and an high spirited and yet experimental performance. 



 Promoting puppetry as an art form is our motto and we want more and more people to learn it and keep this wonderful art form alive. The film is dedicated to musical nomadic tribe Bhopas who are expert in playing an ancient and oldest musical instrument called ‘’Ravanhatha”. Believer of “Pabu Ji Maharaj”, Bhopas are often termed as social activists of ancient times by researchers. “Phad Vachan”- the unique aspect of Bhopa culture is beautifully portrayed in this film exploring interesting tales, local beliefs and traditional wisdom.
