In the aftermath of Report of Parliamentary Standing Committee (PSC) on
Finance on UID/Aadhaar and biometric data collection, the allocation made
for it in the Union Budget 2012-13 is an autocratic exercise that must be
resisted to safeguard national sovereignty and security, citizens rights
and federal structure of the polity. The involvement of transnational
biometric and surveillance technology companies working with foreign
intelligence agencies merits rigorous scrutiny by informed citizens. The
speakers, who have given their testimony to the PSC, will share documents
and insights on the issue.
