On August 14, 2012, veteran Sindhi researcher, historian and writter Sain Atta Mohammad Bhambhro declined to
receive Sitara-i-Imtiaz (the star of excellence) – a higher state award for
civilians - from President Zardari due to forced exodus of Sindhi Hindus
from Pakistan and ethnic exploitation of Sindhi people in the federation.
