brief of last three days development regarding the issue of Hindu exodus in
Pakistan
 
August 14: 
 
Pir Pagaro Assures Security to the Hindus
Spiritual leader of Hur community and Chief
of Pakistan Muslim League – F (PML – F), the third largest party of Sindh
Assembly, asks Sindhi Hindus to not to leave Pakistan as his party and
spiritual followers will take all possible initiatives to secure Hindus of
Sindh. 
 
Pir pagaro is grandson and spiritual
successor of Pri Sabghatullah Shah, a Hur Guerrilla Warfare leader who fought
against British rule and for freedom of Sindh during Second World War along
with his more than 20000 combatants. The Hur community is beyond 10 million in
Sindh.

Sindhi Writer Declined Receiving State Award on August 14, 2012   
On August 14, 2012, according to Sindhi
dailies from Pakistan, veteran Sindhi researcher, historian and writer Atta
Mohammad Bhambhro declined to receive Sitara-i-Imtiaz (the star of excellence)
– a higher state award for civilians - from President Zardari because of forced
exodus of Sindhi Hindus from Pakistan and ethnic exploitation of Sindhi people
in the federation.
 
Civil Society of Sindh Demands for Public
Apology by Rehman Malik
According to an update by civil society
activists, the civil society representatives of Sindh met with the
Parliamentarians Committee on Hindu Exodus in Hyderabad and demanded a public
apology by Interior Minister Remhan Malik over security failure mishandling the
issue of migration at Wagha border near Lahore.

reports of migration of Hindu families from the province to India and termed it
mere a propaganda.

Civil Society Shows Concerns over Hindu
Migration
Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP),
Pakistan Dalit Solidarity Network (PDSN), Pakistan Peace Coalition (PPC) and
various Sindh based civil society organizations and networks expressed serious
concerns over growing insecurity among the Hindu population in Sindh, which is
prompting migration of hundreds of families from Sindh and Balochistan to India
since many years.
 
Nationalists demand for Protection of
Hindus 
Various nationalist parties including Jeay
Sindh Qaumi mahaz (JSQM), Awami Tehreek (AT), Awami Jamhoori Party (AJP), Sindh
Taraqi Pasand Party (STP) and others pointed failure of government’s protection
of Hindu minorities, which is pushing them for quitting Sindh.
