DBICA – Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts, the parentorganization of ISFFI, is a non-profit organisation exclusively functioning inthe field of Media and Communication, presenting the best of the world’s shortfilm to audiences in Chennai. DBICA has emerged as one of the premier mediainstitutes actively involved in imparting values, skills and promoting medialiteracy among young people and those involved in the field of media. To thisend, DBICA providesa good avenue for media critics and professionals to discuss media and socialissues through seminars, research, short film festivals and various othercampaigns.
 
MISSION& OBJECTIVE
 
The mission and objective of International Short Film Festival of India[ISFFI] is to give short films an identity that differentiates this art form,from the conventional big screen. ISFFI showcases short films that celebratediverse cultures, aesthetic traditions, social and political themes and otherworks that challenge and transcend expectations. Our particular interest is inshort films that deal with novel themes, cutting-edge technology and unusualvisualization, traditional as well as those that dissent in form, technique or contentfrom the mainstream. 
 
ABOUT THEINTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL OF INDIA 2012
 
The International Short Film Festival of India is all set to beshowcased on the 24th & 25th February 2012. We inviteentries on a variety of themes comprising alternate genres and narrativestyles. We are passionate about quality film making. Your film can be adocumentary, narrative or an animation. We simply love good films!
 
ISFFI 2012 is now in its sixth edition and is no doubt the bestinternational short film festival in Chennai. ISFFI 2011 was a whopping successwith around 550 entries from 42 countries across the globe.

All Short Short [20 minutes or under]and Short [less than 30 minutes] will be accepted.  Films below 20 minutes would be perfect.Awards will be given for the best films in each category.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS


§  Bysubmitting this film to ISFFI, you are declaring that you have the legal rightto your film and absolve ISFFI from any copyright/ intellectual rightviolation. The DVD’s submitted will not be returned.
§  Whilefilms belonging to most genres are welcome, we DO NOT ACCEPT EROTIC FILMS orFILMS THAT PORTRAY EXTREME CRUELTY TO HUMANS OR ANIMALS / GORY FILMS.
§  Allfilms produced within the last two years from the date of this year’s festivalare eligible for competitive Section of ISFFI and films produced before thatperiod will fall under non competitive section of ISFFI.
§  TheFinal Deadline for RECEIVING the DVD in our office is 25th January2012. We are not responsible for any delay in transit. 
§  Allentries should be sent ONLY BY POST/Courier. All postage costs and duties areto be borne by the sender. ISFFI is not responsible for loss or damage of theDVD. 
§  Allfilms [other than English language] should be subtitled or dubbed in English.
§  Apanel of judges shall select the best film in each category. In the event, thepanel does not find any film to have the required levels of artistic merit; itmay decide not to grant awards in one or more categories. In all instances, thepanel's decisions are final and no appeal in this regard shall be entertained.
§  Onlyone film should be included in a DVD. If you are submitting two or more films,they should be on separate DVD’s. A CD containing separate accompanyingmaterial like Synopsis, Production details like Cast and Crew etc. must besubmitted for every film.
§  Pleaselabel your DVD clearly with film name, run time, and contact details. Please DONOT use small stickers on top of the regular CD Stickers.
§  Pleaseplay your DVD on a stand-alone DVD player before mailing to us. Some DVDs whichplay well on the computer do not play well on stand-alone DVD players.
§  Bysubmitting the film to ISFFI, you are giving us the permission to exhibitexcerpts of your film in one or more festival websites plus in all otherpromotional events including TV telecasting.
§  Onlyfilms under the short shots or short film category should be submitted.Normally, we do NOT consider films longer than 30 minutes since our goal is toshow as many films during the festival as possible.
§  Pleasesend your DVD by courier or "Registered Post Acknowledgement Due". Inany case DBICA will confirm the receipt of the DVD by E-mail or by telephone.
§  Kindlylabel your package with “NO COMMERCIAL VALUE” AND “FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES ONLY”.
§  TWODVD copies for judging your film [in PAL or Universal Code - region 0 encoded]should be sent to the address given below.
