[Reader-list] work on microfinance

Dear all,
For those interested, a significant work on microfinance has been recently
published. It's a detailed study of microfinance in India, basically
critiques the notion that microfinance can be a substitute for the rural
credit structure. It includes its history, size and growth in India, issues
for debate; a survey of the critiques of the microfinance movement. All
this is within the broader frame of development objectives, and credit
requirement of small and marginal farmers, small enterprises, etc.
The author is associated with the EPW Research Foundation in Mumbai.
