Dear Friends,
I hope this finds you well. I wanted to share the
wonderful news that PVR Director's Rare is releasing my Hindi feature
PAIRON TALLE on 5th October in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune (other centres to
follow). After having traveled to over 10 films festivals including Toronto
and Rotterdam (and also screening at the Museum of Modern Art - MoMA in
NYC), and having secured distribution in USA, Canada and Benelux, this
utterly indie venture will finally see the light of day in its home
country. I attach the poster for your kind attention.

Here is a link to the theatrical trailer:

PAIRON TALLE tells the story of a simple watchman, who is so devoted to
protecting his master's property, that he has lost the very ability to
safeguard himself. When realization of his enslavement finally dawns on
him, it does so at a bloody price. Will the watchman take destiny into his
own hands or will justice be denied him forever…

The stark contrasts of the rapidly urbanizing NCR (National Capital Region)
provide the violent backdrop to the film – this is a Delhi you’ve never
been shown before….

PAIRON TALLE received the prestigious Hubert Bals Fund award and premiered
at the Toronto Int'l Film Festival 2010, to great acclaim. Cameron Bailey,
Artistic Director of the festival, selected the film as one of his
prestigious "Daily Picks" and had this to say: “*… This is a film of
extraordinarily striking aesthetics. And yet, as structured and disciplined
as it is, Soul of Sand is also a sharp cry for social change… Clearly
schooled in the best of world cinema… this young auteur has found a way to
make films in India that feel urgent, relevant, artful and new*”.

Please do share this news with your friends and family and come watch the
film when it releases at a PVR near you!

Warmly
