 by

*Urvashi Butalia *

*Time: *06:00 PM

*Venue: *Old Conference Hall, Main Campus, TISS,

V.N. Purav Marg, Deonar, Mumbai - 400088

*About the Talk *In this talk, Urvashi Butalia traces her (accidental)
entry into the world of publishing, and her instant and ongoing love affair
with it, and over time, her decision to become a feminist publisher, as
well as the ups and downs of surviving as an independent, small publisher
in India and internationally. Through doing this, she traces the changes
that have taken place - and there are many, and very major - in the world
of books in India since the seventies when she joined, and looks at what
the future may b...e like, given the major and very rapid advances in
technology. The talk will be mainly anecdotal, informal, and will probably
raise more questions than it will answer.*
