The national conference of the National Fishworkers Forum (NFF) to be held
in Mumbai from December 6 to 8 will discuss the demand for a separate Union
Ministry for Fisheries; repeal of the licence given to foreign trawlers;
and implementation of the National Green Tribunal’s order banning
beach-sand mining, among other things. The conference will give final shape
to the nation-wide agitation to be launched by fish workers, a press note
quoting NFF secretary T. Peter said.
