Dr. Bibek Debroy is currently a Professor at Centre for Policy Research New Delhi. He is also a Visiting Senior Research Fellow, Institute for South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore. He was educated at Ramakrishna Mission School, Narendrapur; Presidency College, Calcutta, and Delhi School of Economics. He was also a post-graduate student in Economics at Cambridge University where he was a member of Trinity College. Prof. Debroy has taught at Presidency College, Calcutta, the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade and National Council of Applied Economic Research. Debroy has authored several books, papers and popular articles, has been the Consulting Editor of some of the most prominent financial newspapers. He is authoring a ten volume unabridged English translation of the Mahabharata.
Shantum Seth is an ordained teacher (Dharmacharya) in the Zen Buddhist lineage (of the Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh) and has been leading pilgrimages ' In the Footsteps of the Buddha' and other multi-faith and transformative journeys since 1988. He is also a consultant to the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation to help promote Buddhist circuit tourism in India and is on the Advisory Board to the Minister of Culture, Government of India. Shantum is actively involved in social, environmental and educational programmes including work on teacher training through Mindfulness and Applied Ethics in Education, being pioneered by the non-profit trust, Ahimsa. He is working on setting up a Mindfulness practice and learning centre in Dehradun. He has contributed to a number of books including, 'Walking with the Buddha', 'Planting seeds…Sharing Mindfulness with Children', and 'Volunteers against Conflict'. He has also been a consultant on films including 'Life of the Buddha' made by the BBC and Discovery and 'The Story of India' made by BBC and PBS.
