[Reader-list] Indian General Elections of 1951-52, 1957 and 1962-- need help with information

Hi all,

I am a New Delhi based journalist with the Mint financial newspaper of
the Hindustan Times group and am scouting for some research on past
Indian general elections, especially the first three-1951-52, 1957 and
1962.

For the same, am looking at getting some information on the poll
planks of the major national parties and their manifestos.

Could the group please suggest sources from where one could get access
to these old manifestos, at least for the bigger 3-4 parties? Are
there
any readily available online resources for the same? Else, what
offline sources could one tap?

Would be grateful for all help.
