The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), UK, have an International
Placement Scheme [IPS] to facilitate the placement of UK postgraduate students
and early career researchers on short-term fellowships at a number of overseas
research institutions. The scheme is run annually and in collaboration with
Sarai.

Other research institutions in collaboration with the AHRC [UK] include the
Library of Congress, Washington DC, USA, The Huntington Library, San Marino,
California, and the National Institutes for the Humanities, Japan, from 2012.

ABOUT THE AHRC [UK] INTERNATIONAL PLACEMENT SCHEME

Opportunities now exist for early career researchers and AHRC-funded
postgraduate students to undertake short-term placements at Sarai during
2013/14, as part of the AHRC International Placement Scheme.

International Placement Scheme eligibility requirements for Sarai have recently
been extended, so that early career researchers are no longer required to have
current AHRC funding. The requirement remains in place for PhD students.

This is the second year that Sarai has been part of the AHRC-IPS. Sarai is keen
to receive all relevant applications, and would particularly welcome
applications from practice-led arts and humanities scholars, whose research
interests complement Sarai’s research priorities.

IPS fellowships are for a period of three months at Sarai.

Fellowships include a travel and living stipend. PhDs/ECRs with current AHRC
funding will also continue to receive the stipend they receive as part of their
current award.

Sarai will arrange accommodation for IPS fellows.

CLOSING DATES

The deadline for this second round of applications will be 16.00 GMT on 21st
March 2013.
