On the Sukma Incident
There are many things we do not want about the world. Let us not just mourn
them. Let us change them.
The killing in Sukma happened as a result of the tragic trail of events let
loose in the name of war on terror to run democracy and governance with
hawks at head. Human Rights movement has long
warned the government that not to have the ears to hear the feeble voice of
the people may at one
time result in some uncalled for situations where one-sided explanation is
ridiculous and inappropriate.
APDR has only one answer to such situation: Go for dialogue and settle
scores not through arms and violence; governments (both at the centre and
state) must stop selling the country to foreign powers and learn to respect
human rights of the people standing at the receiving end.
Dhiraj Sengupta
General Secretary
