Performance dates: 5-6 days in February, 2014 in New Delhi.

Performance brief: THE REAL THING researches the boundaries between fiction and reality by superimposing one on the other.
THE REAL THING takes place in two highly codified places: the theatre and the library. Both as places of representation are carried to extremes and the fictional character of the real situation - architecture, politics of the gaze, codes of behaviour - are revealed. The rules, assumptions and un-discussed agreements - the framing becomes experiential /sensual.
What is the tension between a fictional, highly constructed place/experience/ narrative/character and the ‘real’?

"THE REAL THING“ establishes a look at „theatre“ and “library” as remarkable cultural inventions, „social sculptures“ and strange places. They become installations – pieces of art.

Performer Brief: Actors, dancers, magicians, politicians academics etc.

For the Audition: If you are an actor you will be required to prepare a 7-10 min representation about yourself which could be fictional/real + a piece from a production

If you are a magician, politician, academic or anyone else interested in auditions - please prepare a 7-10 min representation about yourself which could be fictional/real + presentation of your ideas/thoughts (ie if you are a politician you could give a speech on your ideology etc.)
