[Reader-list] Call for entries: 12th Pune International Film Festival 2014

The 12th Pune International Film Festival – PIFF 2014 offers a contemporary and liberal platform for the filmmakers of the world to exhibit the excellence of the film art form. The aim is mainly to contribute to the understanding and appreciation of cultures of different nations, with the hope to present complex human situations of this rapidly changing world in the globalised era.



The Festival is being organized by the Pune Film Foundation jointly with the Government of Maharashtra.



(PIFF) is to be held from January 9 to 16, 2014.



(PIFF) has various sections. The World Competition Section has cash prizes which are judged by international juries. The following awards are given by the Government of Maharashtra in the World Competition Section for Feature Films:



Best Film - Cash Award of ` 10, 00,000 (approx. US $20,000)

Best Director - Cash Award of ` 5, 00,000 (approx. US $10,000)



Rules and regulations:

Films must be feature films.
Films entered for Competition section in World Cinema must have been completed on or after January 1, 2012.
Films Censorship visa / certificate of the country where the film has been produced.
Films that have been submitted in earlier editions of (PIFF) are not eligible.
Films that have been previously screened publicly in Pune, aired on Indian television prior to the Festival, or are available for online viewing in their entirety are not eligible
Works in progress are not eligible.
Dubbed/ remade versions are not eligible for entry.
Maximum of two entries would be allowed from a Producer.
Only completed entries (including entry form and preview DVD screener with English subtitles) will be processed.
All entries must be either in English or contain English subtitles. Non-English entries submitted without subtitles are not eligible.
Entries will be subject to preview by a selection committee constituted by the Organizing Committee of (PIFF) .The applicant should have authority to submit the film for participation in the (PIFF).
In case any of the requirements mentioned in this part of the regulations are not completed with by the applicant, the entry is liable to be rejected summarily.
Requirements:

Applicants can submit the entry form online through our websitewww.piffindia.com and hard copy can send with Preview screener/DVD’s for selection procedure.
The last date for receipt of applications along with preview DVD’s is October 31, 2013. If it is a holiday, the next working day will be treated as the last date for receipt of DVD’s/ entries. Applications received after the last date would be rejected.
Preview screener may be submitted on DVD (NTSC or PAL) with English subtitles. Do not send film prints, master tapes or other originals. The production’s title must be on each case and DVD.
DVDs (PAL or NTSC) of films with English subtitles may also be sent for purposes of selection only so as to reach the Film Festival Office.
Courier Services if used will be paid for by Applicant. DVDs may also be sent through diplomatic channels.
Entries marked with captions such as “Preview copy” channel logo etc. can be send for preview to selection Panel but the screening copy must be clean and clear of above caption/logos, if any and must be in the formats prescribed in these regulations.
The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2013.
