Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi invites applications for the second edition of the Collegiate Theatre Festival of New German Writing. The Festival is an initiative to promote contemporary German plays and campus theatre in the city. Teams will be creating their plays under the mentorship of a professional from the field of theatre. New German plays created by four college theatre groups will be presented in February 2014, at Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi. 
Applications are invited from theatre groups of colleges based in Delhi and NCR. 
This year the plays will be mentored by Delhi based actor and director, Anirudh Nair. Anirudh has an MA in Theatre Practice from the University of Exeter, UK and has trained extensively in contemporary physical theatre traditions emerging from Eastern Europe and Asia. He annually trains and collaborates with practitioners in the UK specializing in the Original Practice approach to Shakespeare as well as intensive physical theatre based performance. Anirudh is the artistic director of Wide Aisle Productions, a theatre company based in Delhi. 
The selected teams will be required to attend a two - day workshop with Anirudh on the 22nd and 23rd of October. Seats for this workshop are limited however, the festival will try and accommodate as many students as possible. The teams will subsequently meet with the mentor three times, between November 2013 and February 2014 to share work in progress. 
Each team will be given a production grant of Rs.10,000/-. The space and lights requirement for the shows will be provided for by Goethe-Institut. Scripts are available in English. Possibilities of translation to Hindi may be discussed, subject to availability of rights.
