Bangalore, the Land of Thousand Lakes, once promised an abundance of water
for the city people, but as the city grew over the past decades, and as the
urbanity sprawled its wings, the nightmare of water scarcity has been
haunting the people of Bangalore. While the city has significantly lost its
rich ecological heritage, quite rapidly, to the urbanisation, the major
trade off being the inadequate access to the good quality water, the
testimonies of city people verify this. Several reports and studies have
been published by academia, civil society groups, various institutions and
government agencies pointing to the grim situation.

Paradigm Shift <https://www.facebook.com/paradigmshiftvegan> is delighted
to invite for Climate सत्संग: Bengaluru Water Talk where we will manoeuvre
through time and space of the city to perceive the water status and its
linkage to the sustainability of the city.

Manish Gautam: Manish Kumar Gautam has obtained his Masters in Engineering
in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute
of Science Bangalore, and presently working as a research assistant at the
Indian Institute for Human Settlements, Bangalore.
