The Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN) is a youth led voluntary
organization working for the cause of improving the environment for present
and future generations.

are one of the few youth organisations in the country working on climate
change and related issues. A large part of our mandate is to study climate
policy, deconstruct it for the understanding of the youth and undertake
advocacy for a sustainable, just and bright future for the youth at both
national and international platforms.

In this regard IYCN sends youth led delegations to CoPs ever since its
inception in 2008. The programme called “Agents of Change” (AoC) is one of
a few wherein youth from the subcontinent get to interact and engage at
international platform with the Indian government, civil society, the UN
and youths from different parts of the world. It helps youth get a ringside
view of the negotiations on climate change that have important implications
for their future.

This year the AoC programme includes a climate perception survey of the
youth in India and a resultant position paper on climate policy by the
youth. IYCN is sending a small delegation of three to the CoP20 in Lima
where we will present the results of our findings from the survey as well
as our position paper.

In this context we are organizing a round-table in Delhi on *17 November
2014* to discuss these with our seniors from civil society organisations
and most importantly with Members of Parliament as well as the government.

*Venue: Mapple Hall India, India Habitat Center, New Delhi*

*Time: 9:30am*

This years’ AoC programme is supported by the Embassy of the Federal
Republic of Germany with technical support from Deutsche-Gesellschaft fur
Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)
