Vacancy for Publications Coordinator

The Foundation for Agrarian Studies (www.agrarianstudies.org) is hiring a
Publications Coordinator for its peer-reviewed journal Review of Agrarian
Studies (www.ras.org.in).


Review of Agrarian Studies carries theoretical and empirical articles on
social, economic, historical, political and scientific and technological
aspects of agriculture and rural societies.

About the Role

The Publications Coordinator will be responsible for managing editorial
production of the *Review of Agrarian Studies* from end to end: from the
handover of content from the Editor to final digital publication and PDFs.
The Publications Coordinator will also manage the publication of books and
reports emerging from the Foundation’s research activity.

The Publications Coordinator’s responsibilities include (but are not
limited to):

Liaising with the Editor, authors, referees, technical staff, and
publishers of the Review;

Preparing articles for publication, including copy-editing at multiple
stages;

Managing the publication of the Review and ensuring it is published on
schedule;

Planning and tracking the publication of various books and reports from the
Foundation; and

Providing editorial and administrative support to all other publications
activity at the Foundation.

About the Candidate

The role is particularly suited to candidates with a Master’s Degree in
English Literature, with one to two years of experience in an editorial
environment or in academic publishing. We also welcome applications from
candidates with excellent language skills who have Master’s Degrees in
other relevant social science subjects. Applications from exceptional
candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree will also be considered.

Essential skills include:

advanced language and editing skills, in particular with academic writing

excellent computer literacy, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and
other web publishing tools

an eye for detail
​;​

a willingness to learn on the job
​; and​

an interest in agrarian studies

The salary offered will be dependent on skills and experience.
