Climate सत्संग: Story of Bengaluru's Slender Loris!

Till recently,Bangalore’s urban areas were home to an elusive, nocturnal
primate, the slender loris; today, however, this shy animal remains
restricted to only a few remnant sites. Where have all the lorises gone?
Where did they live in Bangalore before it became a metropolis? What can be
done for their protection and conservation?

These are few of the many questions which will be answered by Dr. Kaberi
Kar Gupta at Paradigm Shift Activist Center this Saturday as a part of
Climate सत्संग series hosted by the Activist Center. She will also be
sharing the details of 'The Urban Slender Loris Project' which involves
garnering the support of citizen scientists.

About Dr. Kaberi Kar Gupta: Dr. Kar Gupta is trained in wildlife biology
from the Wildlife Institute of India, and in Anthropology from Arizona
State University. She studied the Slender Loris in Kalakad-Mundanthurai
Tiger Reserve for about a decade for her Ph.D. thesis research. Her current
research draws upon her training in multiple disciplines to study the
ecology of cities where people live alongside wildlife. She is currently a
visiting scientist at the Center for Ecological Science in Indian Institute
of Science.
