Last two years have provided great opportunities for waste-pickers, the
green crusaders in Bangalore to demonstrate their professionalism in
providing waste management services to the city and its citizens. This is
only a sprout which will grow into a tree in the coming years. To celebrate
their work and contribution in making the city clean, we at Hasiru Dala

Schedule of the day:
0900:1030: Registration and Breakfast
1030:1145: Sessions facilitated by Shoonya focused on art and street
theater performance.
1200-1300: Dialogue with wastepickers- Interaction with Sri U.T. Khader,
Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka, Sri Dinesh Gundu
Rao, Minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Sri Vijay
Bhaskar, Bangalore Administrator, Sri Kumar Naik, Commissioner, Bruhat
Bengaluru Mahanagara Pallike.
1300-1400: Lunch
1400-1700: Continuation of sessions facilitated by Shoonya focused on art
and street theater performances.

The event is open and all are welcome. Further, on this day various aspects
of waste management services provided by waste pickers will be discussed.
Waste pickers will be honored for their contribution. They will also be
requested to share their experience in waste management.
