Open Call: Workshop/Audition

Inviting applications from performing artists for a week long, residential
workshop through which we will be auditioning for a devised,
physical-theatre piece to be developed later in the year, based on a poem
by Rabindranath Tagore, and a musical composition by Polish composer
Gorecki. The workshop will take place at Walden Pond House
<https://www.facebook.com/walden.irinjalakuda>, Irinjalakkuda, Kerala from
June 3rd to 9th, 2016. The project is directed by Arka Mukhopadhyay
<https://www.facebook.com/arkamukhopadhyay0605?fref=photo>, a physical
theatre performer and director.

Applications are invited from physically trained actors, dancers and vocal
and instrumental musicians interested in physical theatre and recent
graduates of theatre and dance training programmes.

Participants in the workshop will have a chance to learn aspects of forms
such as Kalaripayattu and Kootiyattom from master teachers, as well as core
training in breath, rhythm, movement, voice, basic acrobatics, text,
partner and ensemble work and improvization
