Chakor Lakeerein invites you to the screening of 'Garam Hawa' at MYOLO Headquaters to give an insight of Indian classic cinema and peep into the issue of Partition.


Garam Hawa is a 1973 Urdu drama film directed by M. S. Sathyu. Written by Kaifi Azmi and Shama Zaidi, based on an unpublished short story by noted Urdu writer Ismat Chughtai. Set in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, the film deals with the plight of a North Indian Muslim businessman and his family, in the post partition of India in 1947. The partition not only affected those who were displaced but also those who decided to stay back. 


Movie screening is followed by a discussion on the issues related to partition, consequences and its meaning in current demographic condition of India.
