[Reader-list] Whose Plot is this really ?

I didn't want to get into this. But here is a small point. Please do not forget that we are on the Internet, where, even though most things come free - but as they say in America: there is no such thing as a free lunch. So, while Sarai list maybe a free space for you to speak out loud, someone, somewhere is paying for the server space and the bandwidth (I don't mean paying in that "getting paid" sense. But if you insist on the "getting paid" angle, then even you are using that "foreign kick-back" by posting your messages on this paid server). 

Nothing is free. Even when we sign up on Yahoo, Google or any other free service, they get a contract signed from us (which I'm sure none of us read fully) saying that they have the right to remove you from their free service as and when they feel like. Now, I don't want to compare the institution of Sarai/CSDS with that sort of corporatism, but I am sure every institution has the right to maintain a certain decorum in a public debate. When you subscribed to the reader-list, they must have sent you a message about what this list is all about, and that you need to follow a certain decorum. By accepting their subscription, you have agreed to abide by the decorum. If you don't, then it is their right to remove. 

Even if we consider the reader-list as a truly public forum with no institutional belonging, then, the opinion of the rest of the list-members should suffice to remove you or anyone who crosses limits of decency. We can have a referendum/poll here, and let the list members vote for or against you.
