[Reader-list] Free Speech vs Voluminous Speech

fwiw, I don't read most of the msgs here any more - I probably skim
the first in the thread then skip the rest. I'm in mumbai for a couple
of weeks so have checked the latest threads as I'm looking for info on
exhibitions/prjects/things I should check out whilst here. I found a
few books in delhi (+sarai reader 07) so that's been worthwhile -
different publishers to sarai but along similar lines.
http://www.aliak.com/content/women-india-book-related-links has some
I've found - so there's enough there for me to follow up on for a
while.

the urban study list is still good. is there another list that's
discussing the items you mentioned that I should try? "speech,
transvestites, art openings, art grants, cyberspace, technology, etc".
I suppose I should learn more about the conflicts/issues that have
been talked about over past couple of years, but to be honest, I
prefer the sarai list from years ago. so I tend to ignore most of the
emails here now apart from general / project announcements. maybe
there should be a new list for politics/topics that have dominated the
list or a new one for the original topics to split the discussions
apart?

I really enjoy the sarai / csds publications and hearing about the
projects as I think you're doing a wonderful job and it's a good way
to learn more about india (for me at least), so I'd love to hear more
about these things as opposed to politics. I understand that as india
is changing quickly, politics (policitcs of religion/beliefs? not sure
what to call it) etc are part of this but I guess it's not where my
focus lies.
