Hello,

The *IIT Madras** **Symposium on Sustainable Development* from *30th
September to 4th October* will bring together forty-five bright young
students from varied disciplines with the aim of debating, discussing and
drafting smart policy recommendations that can make our markets,
technologies and lifestyles sustainable.

The Symposium will address issues regarding


   - *Energy Security and mitigating Climate Change*
   - ***Financing Sustainable Development*
   - ***Challenges of Urbanization*

All students are encouraged to apply. Participants will spend 4 days in an
intensive, intellectually challenging environment. These students will
attend lectures by iconic key note speakers, workshops to enhance
problem-solving skills and will be mentored by experts during the three day
program.

*The outcome of the symposium will be a published dossier of the students
ideas which will be read by some of the most influential people in the
country. The winners of the Symposium will be awarded Rupees 40,000. *

*The last date for submitting applications is 4th September, 2009.*
