Dear Zainab, (Dear All)

This pertains to a post which you made on the reader-list sometime
ago. In this particular post, the following bit was mentioned-

'Thom Friedman, the interviewer, asked Nilekani what is the difference
between India and China. Nilekani replied saying that China does not
have the problem of democracy which India has.'

If true, then I'd like to consider this as an extremely significant
statement, coming from a person, who now holds a cabinet level berth
and is responsible to give us all tokens of national membership. It
would be interesting to know more about his views on democracy, open
society and other impediments.

However one is not sure about these things till one can attribute it
to a source. My request to you therefore is, could you please provide
us with a link or a source which links what is being claimed to Nandan
Nilekani so that we can then study the interview in greater detail.

Warm regards

Taha
