GOOD NEWS



Due to the intense protests of the fishing community against the Kerala
Government’s plan to reclaim 5000 hectares of the sea between Veli and
Shanghumugham, pointing out the environmental problems and livelihood rights
of the fishing community, the minister of the industries has decided to drop
the feasibility study and the project. This is one more victory for the
struggles of the fishing community and other social organizations.
